Since 2016 he has been responsible for EEA and Norway Grants in the environmental and energy sector in Poland as a representative of the Programme Operator for the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme financed by EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and previous programmes as well. He is a chairman of the Cooperation Committee that consist of representatives of Norway, Iceland and Poland and aims to strengthen cooperation between engaged countries and support the Programme Operator in implementation of the Programme. He participates in the preparation of the next (2021-2027) financial perspective of European funds at the national level in the area of a greener, low carbon and resilient Europe.
He started working for Ministry as a Senior Expert responsible for disbursement of the EU Cohesion Fund to the environmental investment projects and then led the financial management unit and for many years he has been also responsible for sound management of the EU Funds in the environmental sector.
Abstract
The presentation focuses on familiarising the audience with the scope of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Operational Programme that is to be supported under EEA Grants 2014-2021. Particular attention will be given to energy area, including financing investments in use of geothermal energy, also as a part of district heating systems. Opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation will also be highlighted.
