Steinunn is a geochemist and director of „Low temperature geothermal and natural resources“ at ÍSOR. She has a M.Sc in geology from UBC in Vancouver Canada and has worked with ÍSOR since 2003 and before that with the predecessor „Research division of Orkustofnun“ since 1997. Main work has been in the field of exploration and monitoring of low temperature geothermal utilization.
