Harpa PetursdottirPresident of Women in Energy Iceland

    Harpa Petursdottir is a legal adviser at the National Energy Authority of Iceland. She has many years of experience working in the renewable energy sector in Iceland, mainly as regards utilization of natural resources such as geothermal and hydropower. She has worked for both public and private entities, focusing solely on energy matters, for the last 10 years. In addition to acting as a legal advisor she has also held the position of Manager for the Electricity Regulatory Authority within the NEA as well as being a project manager for international projects of the Authority.  Harpa is also a lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the University of Iceland and is a member of the board for the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Research of the University. Harpa has written numerous articles and been a speaker in many countries on geothermal matters. Harpa is the founder of Women in Energy – Iceland, which was founded in March 2016, and serves as the Chairman of the Board as well as being the Vice-Chair of the newly founded Nordic Energy Equality Network.
