Marek HajtoAGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (AGH)

    Studied petroleum geology at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (AGH UST), completed in 1996. I have been working at the AGH UST since 1997.

    Graduated from UNU Geothermal Training Programme (6 months training course) on Iceland in 2002.

    Over 20 years’ experience in research of which almost 15 years in the field of geothermal exploration and use. Areas of scientific interest cover research into the assessment of geothermal energy resources, hydrothermal and thermal conditions of geothermal systems and geothermal education.

    Author or co-author of over 80 publications, 20 R&D projects, and over 20 feasibility studies,
    as well as several projects of geological works regarding possibilities of use of geothermal energy for towns and municipalities located within the Polish Lowlands, the Carpathians and the Carpathian foreland.

    Coordinator of several R&D projects, including a set of atlases on deep geothermal resources, commissioned by the Ministry of Environment RP and financed  from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFEP&WM) – covering almost 90%
    of Poland, issued in the years 2004-2013.

    Vice-chairman of the board of PSG Polish Geothermal Society. In September 2019 elected into the International Geothermal Association BoD for term 2020-2023.

    A Member of the International Geothermal Association (IGA) and the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH).
