UNIQUE EXPERIENCE IN ONE DAY
The excursion to Theistareykir Geothermal Power Station is a unique one-day trip to explore how Landsvirkjun harnesses geothermal power.
Participants will fly to Akureyri in the Northeast of Iceland and travel to Theistareykir by bus, witnessing the extraordinary landscape of Lake Mývatn on their way.
Once at Theistareykir, they will be guided through Iceland’s newest and most sophisticated geothermal power plant by expert guides who have extensive experience in geothermal exploration and utilization and know about the fascinating history of geothermal utilization in the Northeast of Iceland.
If there is enough snow on the ground, participants will travel the Theistareykir area on snowmobiles, adding to an already unique experience.
Highlights:
Krafla Power Plant, Theistareykir Power Plant, Bjarnaflag Power Plant and the connected Mývatn Nature Baths, snowmobile ride (based on snow conditions), flight over the Icelandic highlands.
Planned time schedule for the trip:

| 17:00 | Guided drive through Myvatn on the way to the Nature Baths. The area is known for, among other things, being one of the filming locations of Game of Thrones. |
| 17:30-18:30 | Myvatn Natural Bath – bath and light dinner before driving back to Akureyri for the flight to Reykjavik |
